Torrential rains have hit the south, northwest and northeast China over past two months. The statistics from the Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters shows that as of 26th July, there were totally 124 million people in 28 provinces/ districts/ municipalities affected by floods since the beginning of this year, causing 823 people dead and 437 missing, and the direct economic losses are worth CNY 154.1 billion. As a humanitarian organization, Plan China has immediately taken disaster relief actions to respond to floods. |
