Over past ten years, six counties (district), 38 townships, 549 villages and 30,000 sponsored children in Shaanxi Province have benefited from the cooperation between Plan China and Shaanxi Provincial Women’s Federation (SWF). To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the cooperation between two parties and summarize experience so as to continuously promote the cooperation for greater achievements, Plan China and SWF solemnly and ceremoniously convened the Anniversary Conference on 21^st January 2010.

The Director of Provincial Steering Committee Mr. Xue Yaoxuan delivered an important speech for this Anniversary Conference. He not only highly recognized the cooperative model and achievements created by Plan China and SWF, but also proposed ardent expectations on future work in his speech. Then, the Country Director of Plan China Mr. Mark Leighton and the Chairperson of SWF Ms. Liu Lige also addressed the Conference to review and summarize the cooperative achievements of past ten years and to develop the strategic planning for future cooperative development between two parties.

This Anniversary Conference is only part of 10^th anniversary celebration series. To commemorate the 10^th anniversary of cooperation between two parties, Plan China and SWF have implemented the following celebrations since June 2009:

1．Collect photographs, paintings and handicraft from children in Plan China’s programme areas. Thousands of children in Pu Cheng County, Chun Hua County, Yu Lin County, Jia County and Xi Xiang County actively and enthusiastically participated in this activity. The display racks were installed at the Anniversary Conference site particularly for children to exhibit their various work.

2．Participate in the 10^th Anniversary Workshop on November 25^th, 2009. Plan China’s staff at national and county level, SWF’s staff, the staff of County Women’s Federations in programme counties and relevant experts summarized, analyzed and evaluated the projected implemented by Plan China over past ten years in the workshop.

3．Publish the special issue to summarize the achievements and experience acquired over past ten years and to introduce classic cases of Plan China.

4．Advocate and report the cooperation between two parties through relevant media.

The cooperation between SWF and Plan China was initiated in 1999. During the past decade, both parties have friendly cooperated on the basis of mutual respect and coordinated development. Up until now, the integrated development projects have been implemented in the fields of maternal and child health, child rights advocacy, education, water and environmental sanitation, sustainable livelihood, and disaster risks reduction and prevention in six counties (district) of Shaanxi Province including Pu Cheng, Chun Hua, Jia, Yu Yang, Xi Xiang and Cheng Gu with accumulated investment of 320 million RMB, which exerted an active function for the development of women and children in Shaanxi Province.
