Xiaojing and her family members is sending gift to Mani

On 8^th April, Xiaojing’s house located in Guan Zhuang Township was particularly lively while her relatives, friends and neighbors gathered in the orderly and tidy farmhouse to welcome Mani Grace and her party who fly to see her from Australia.

Xiaojing, 13 years old, is in Six Grade of local primary school. When she was 6, she was enrolled as a sponsored child of Plan China and was fortunately sponsored by Kristine Murra from Australia, who came to Chun Hua to see her 5 years ago. During these years, they kept writing to each other. Through reading letters and pictures, Xiaojing gets to know Australia and her sponsor’s life there, which enables them to establish a profound relationship over the far distance.

Mani Grace, a staff of Plan Australian Office, came to China for the first time. With entrust of her friend Kristine Murray, she came to visit Xiaojing’s family with her mother whiling travelling in China. Mani has intense interest in the community projects. They visited school and village, paid a call to neighbors, acquired knowledge about lives of Xiaojing and her family as well as the local culture, and told them about their families and how they live in Australia. Along with a lot of gifts for Xiaojing, Mani also brought far-off wishes of Kristine Murray. Having enjoyed a hearty farm-feast prepared by Xiaojing’s family, Mani reluctantly said goodbye after Xiaojing’s family offered their self-made folk arts and crafts.

"After visit to Xiaojing’s family and community as well as schools, I’m very satisfied with your work! The living environment of Xiaojing and her family has greatly changed over several years. Three years ago, they moved into a new and pretty house, applied water supply system and began to use clean sanitary toilet.” Mani highly commented Water and Environmental Sanitation programme, School Nutrition project, and Women’s Empowerment programme, expressing that she will share what she has seen and heard with more Australian sponsors.
