值10月16日“世界粮食日”之际，新加坡嘉德置地与国际计划合作开展儿童营养项目，帮助解决亚洲地区逾万名儿童的营养问题。10月15日，隆重的赠款仪式和志愿者活动在国际计划（中国）的项目区陕西省淳化县举行，嘉德置地、国际计划（中国）及淳化教育局有关领导出席了此次活动。 |

At 13:46 Beijing time on 11th March 2011, the 9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan, causing a casualty of over 28 thousand deaths or missing, among which, 1000 deaths were children. The secondary disasters caused by the earthquake--fires, tsunami and nuclear leak--took heavy casualties and caused immense economic loss to Japan. As one of the Plan donation countries, thousands of sponsors from Japan sponsored Chinese children and a number of Japan corporations granted Plan China’s projects, who have made considerable contributions to the development of children and communities in the remote areas of China.To show the sympathy to Japanese, especially those sponsors from Japan, the sponsored children of Plan China initiated activities after the disasters under the theme of praying for Japan. On 16th March, with the support of Plan China, 75 sponsored children from Gao Yang Middle School and Tian Shui Jing Middle School expressed their condolence and blessings for the Japanese. Five sponsored children whose sponsors are Japanese wrote letters of sympathy to their sponsors and sent their sponsors handcrafts to encourage and bless them to get rid of the troubles soon and create better future. A sponsored child told us that after Wenchuan earthquake, her sponsor wrote her a letter of encouragement with a beautiful sunflower painting, which brought her hope. When confronted with the natural disasters, she hoped her sponsor would get out of the difficulties and reconstruct homeland. Plan China has sent these letters and gifts, together with wishes from Plan China staff, to Japan in order that the Japanese could receive wishes. Furthermore, after the disasters, Plan Japan has distributed 1000 family kits to the affected people, and will start psycho-social rehabilitation work focusing on children in disaster affected areas.
