In 2011, China Co-operative Times Agency, Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Science, Financial Brand and Corporate Culture Institute of Central University of Finance and Economics jointly launched the activities of choosing China Rural Financial Brand Value List on Figure Award of Innovation, Institute Award of Innovation and Product Award of Innovation. This activity aims at improving the branding of rural financial institutes, promoting their product competiveness, as well as advancing the innovation and development of China rural finance. After months’ vote via newspapers, internet, SMS and specialists’ discussion, five figures, ten institutes and ten products were selected respectively for the Figure Award of Innovation, Institute Award of Innovation and Product Award of Innovation. Qin Xiuping, Secretary General of Women Development Association of Xixiang County, is one of the five figures selected for the Figure Award of Innovation. On July 16th, Qin Xiuping was invited to attend the award ceremony of 2011 Rural Financial Branding Forum & 1st China Rural Financial Brand Value List in Beijing. Xixiang Women’s Development Association and Plan China Since starting as a pilot project in Shaanxi Province in 2002, Plan China’s Micro Credit Prorgamme has provided more than 17 million RMB loans for poverty-stricken population in rural area. In 2006, Plan China worked together with local County Women Federations to establish five Women Development Associations in five counties including Xixiang County. By the end of 2010, the Associations have given more than 30,000 loans for women in poverty, and more than one hundred thousand rural people have benefited from this program. Besides, Plan China developed “Microfinance Management Information System” software at the end of 2006, and helped the Associations get rid of traditional approach of manual accounting. |
