During 6^th to 9^th December 2011, the Child Centred Disaster Risk Reduction Training, which was jointly organised by Shaanxi Women’s Federation, the Women’s Federation of Langao County and Plan China, has been held in Xi’an Sport Hotel with a number of participants including Chen Xiaojiang, the head of International Liaison Department of Shaanxi Women’s Federation, staff members from the Women’s Federation of Langao County and the Education Bureau of Langao County together with the headmasters and Physical Education teachers from ten local schools. Through this training, participants’ awareness on disaster and risk reduction has been greatly promoted via participatory analysis on the vulnerability of actual environment; meanwhile their ability to help students better prepared for natural disaster has also been improved through various approaches such as games, role play as well as activities to find out the gaps in disaster preparedness process and so on. On the last day of the training, an expert experienced in first-aid training from the Training Centre of Red Cross Society of China was invited to deliver basic knowledge and skills on first aid to all participants.
