“We hope to help more and more children get out of mountainous area…”

In order to welcome International Volunteer Day, Plan China Country Office held a party for volunteers in CuiHuaYuan Hotel in Xi’an city at 9 o’clock on Dec 6^th. Over 30 people, including university students in Xi’an city and pieceworkers of Plan China, attended. Sponsorship and Grants Support Manager of Plan China Mr. Liu Zhongliang and staff of Plan’s Sponsorship Team, who assisted with the careful preparation, took part in this party.  

At the beginning of the party, on behalf of all Plan China staff, Country Director Mr. Mark Leighton paid tribute to volunteers. He showed a video of volunteers in the field and said how highly Plan China appreciated volunteers’ work and efforts. Sponsorship and Grants Support Manager Liu Zhongliang said irrespective of the volunteer, whether community volunteers or pieceworkers, They all quietly support Plan China to make great contributions for children’s future. Sponsorship Manager Yang Min stated that volunteers helped the sponsorship team enhance its work efficiency, building a strong bridge between children and sponsors.  The party was held in rich and various ways. The activities included Plan China’s knowledge Ask and Answer, games, lottery draw and so on. Meanwhile, to further develop Plan’s work and establish its good relationship with volunteers, there was a suggestion time. Volunteers positively expressed their ideas and gave their advice. Volunteers said they were proud of helping children through Plan China. Some said they hoped to have more opportunities to communicate with children directly and understand their life and study conditions fully. Finally, all of the participants took part in a group photo as a memorial for this activity.  

Xixiang and Jia PUs also celebrated Volunteers’ Day. 

In order to thank volunteers, especially community volunteers, for their support to children’s future, staff of Xixiang and Jia PUs of Plan China held volunteer’s fellowship on Dec 5^th. This event was mainly to acknowledge Plan’s many community volunteers.  

In the fellowship of Jia County, 26 volunteers’ representatives from 6 program townships, representatives of the steering committee and County Women’s Federation , and staff of Jia PU took part in the activity. There were 3 parts in the fellowship - best wishes to volunteers, a contest and the theatrical festival. The PU Manager of Jia County, Ms Chang Peilian made a speech and sent best wishes to the volunteers from Country Director, Mr. Mark Leighton. Then representatives of TPOs and volunteers respectively summarized their work in sponsorship during this year, sharing their experiences.  

The party let volunteers have a relaxed and happy day and enriched their life on this special day. It also encouraged volunteers’ enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.
