Early in December 2009, a drawing and photography contest was jointly held by Plan China, the Institute of Social Development and Public Policy of Beijing Normal University and the Cultural Development Center of Beijing Spiritual Home. The theme of the contest was “under the same sky— the most unforgettable experience in my life”. Children from Jia County achieved outstanding results in this contest: in all, 19 works got the first, second and third place; among them, “Today, I Wash Mom’s feet”, “Help from Plan China” and “The Story Between My Dad and Me” won the first prizes, holding half of the total first prizes. Meanwhile, the instructors were also honored as “Excellent Instructors”.
